Tungsten Collimators are an essential component of Industrial Radiography setups as they provide radiation safety to the operating personnel and the general public at large by directing the emerging radiation beam to the useful area of exposure. Collimators contain and direct the beam of radiation during exposure. Collimators control and guide the radiation beam during exposure, thereby improving X-ray quality and operational safety. The TCN828 tungsten alloy collimator consists of a stainless steel housing and two tungsten alloy inserts. The tungsten directional collimator guides the radiation beam to a 60° conical side-projection direction via a side port. Our collimators can be directly connected to the radiation source conduit.
In industrial non-destructive testing, it is used to control the shape and size of the radiation beam. This improves the quality of inspection images, making results clearer and more accurate. It helps detect internal material defects and structural issues.
It can be used in medical radiation therapy equipment, such as linear accelerators and cyclotrons. Precisely controlling the shape and direction of the radiation beam ensures accurate targeting of tumors. This minimizes damage to surrounding healthy tissues and improves treatment effectiveness.
