Description of  Nuclear Medicine Syringe Shield

In the field of nuclear medicine, we can see that all syringes are equipped with protective covers, because the radiopharmaceuticals used for detection or quality in the syringes are highly volatile and can scatter ionizing radiation that is harmful to the human body. The  Nuclear Medicine Syringe Shield primarily utilizes tungsten and lead glass as shielding materials. The entire circular bottle body is made of tungsten alloy material, which has a high density and a high level of radiation protection. The easy-to-process and low-cost lead window is embedded within the tungsten alloy bottle body, providing a clear viewing angle.  Nuclear Medicine Syringe Shield can accommodate most volume syringes and can be equipped with different locks (such as Screw Lock, Gaard Lock, and UNI-Lock) according to the operator's needs.  Nuclear Medicine Syringe Shield is used in drug delivery protection in nuclear medicine, and is suitable for MR, SPECT, and PET clinical examination imaging techniques.

Features of  Nuclear Medicine Syringe Shield

High Shielding Effectiveness

– Tungsten alloy wall thicknesses of 2–8 mm, with a lead equivalent of 2.5–5.5 mmPb, attenuate over 99% of gamma rays.

Lightweight and Ergonomic

– Tungsten alloy's high density, combined with thin walls, makes it 30% lighter than traditional lead shields. The slim handle and anti-roll and anti-slip design allow for one-handed operation.

360° Visibility

– A 5.2 g/cm³ high-lead glass window provides unobstructed viewing of the scale; an optional fluorescent interior enhances light reflection.

Quick-Lock Security

– C-Tec™ Clip-Lock or Big-Screw mechanism locks/unlocks in 1 second, compatible with 1–10 mL syringes from various brands.

Easy Cleaning and Sterilization

– Anodized aluminum or stainless steel housing is alcohol- and hypochlorous acid-resistant, with a smooth, seamless surface.

Applications of  Nuclear Medicine Syringe Shield

Tc-99m, Ga-68, F-18, and other PET/SPECT drug delivery methods: Tungsten alloy or lead shielding can reduce hand doses by 80–99%. The shield, when mounted on 1–20 mL syringes and combined with a quick-lock or large spiral mechanism, allows single-handed injection.
