Description Of 2ml Press-fit Injection Protection
The 2ml Press-fit Injection Protection (or protective syringe shield) is a personal radiation protection device specifically designed for fields such as nuclear medicine and radiotherapy. Its core function is to shield the operator's hands from radiation damage during the administration of radiopharmaceuticals (such as F-18 positron-emitting nuclides used in PET-CT scans). This shield utilizes the excellent radiation-shielding properties of a high-density tungsten alloy. The high density of tungsten alloy provides significant radiation attenuation even with relatively thin thicknesses; for example, it can attenuate up to 86% of the 511 keV F-18 positron-emitting nuclide. Designed with a press-fit mechanism, it tightly encloses the 2 ml syringe for easy one-handed injection of the medication while minimizing radiation exposure.
