Description of Pro-Tec™ Unit Dose Pig

Pro-Tec™ Unit Dose Pig is a protective cover used to transport and store single syringes in the field of nuclear medicine. The Pro-Tec™ Unit Dose Pig is mainly composed of three detachable tungsten alloy tubes, and the interfaces are all threaded, which is convenient for medical staff to handle drugs safely and quickly in a short time. Medical staff cannot be directly exposed to the radiation of single-dose radionuclides, and need to be equipped with pipe cleaners in each department for protection.

Features of Pro-Tec™ Unit Dose Pig

• Made of high-density tungsten alloy (≥17 g/cm³), it attenuates Tc-99m gamma rays by >99% with a 2 mm wall thickness. It's thinner, lighter, and non-toxic than lead.

• The Safe-T-Lock one-touch lock/release mechanism allows one-handed syringe loading and unloading, minimizing finger exposure.

• A 5.05 density lead glass window and a reflective coating on the barrel provide clear visibility of the scale and solution while protecting the operator's field of vision.

• Compatible with standard 1 mL–10 mL disposable syringes, the entire device can be wiped with alcohol or sterilized at high temperatures, and the replaceable glass window simplifies maintenance.

• Its compact size and low center of gravity allow it to be placed directly into PET shipping containers or magazine-style ammunition boxes, meeting DOT II A and IATA hazardous materials regulations.

Applications of Pro-Tec™ Unit Dose Pig

• Hospital Nuclear Medicine Departments and PET/CT Centers: Unit-dose extraction, transportation, and pre-injection storage of positron-emitting

drugs such as 18F-FDG.

• Radiopharmacy and Third-Party Distribution: Fully shielded transportation of single vials from the filling line to the ward.

• Clinical Research and Animal Experimentation: Safe handling of low-dose beta/gamma radioisotopes.
