Dorayshield recently announced the successful export of a batch of 3cc PET screw-lock tungsten syringe shields to the oncology department of a hospital in Morocco. This shipment marks the official entry of Dorayshield’s nuclear medicine radiation protection products into the North African market and represents a significant step in the company's business expansion within the African medical protection sector.
The exported 3cc tungsten syringe shields are specifically designed for PET (Positron Emission Tomography) radionuclide injection procedures and are compatible with standard 3cc syringes. Manufactured from high-density tungsten alloy, these shields are lighter than traditional lead-based alternatives while maintaining equivalent protective efficacy. They provide excellent radiation attenuation, effectively shielding against 511 keV gamma rays and achieving approximately 88% attenuation for common PET tracers such as FDG F-18.
The product features a screw-lock mechanism that securely fastens the syringe within the shield via a manual knob, preventing loosening or detachment during injection and ensuring operational safety. The shield body is designed with uniform wall thickness and a smooth surface finish, facilitating easy daily disinfection and cleaning in compliance with medical environment standards.
As a country with rapidly advancing medical capabilities in North Africa, Morocco has increasingly adopted nuclear medicine equipment and technologies, driving a growing demand for associated radiation protection products. Dorayshield’s successful entry into the Moroccan market is the result of its long-standing commitment to the medical radiation protection field and continuous optimization of product design and manufacturing processes. From raw material procurement to precision machining, the company strictly adheres to medical-grade standards, ensuring consistent protective performance and reliable quality for every product.
Currently, Dorayshield offers a comprehensive product line of tungsten syringe shields covering various specifications—including 1cc, 2cc, 3cc, 5cc, and 10cc—and provides customized solutions tailored to the medical needs of different countries and regions. The company has also established a robust foreign trade service system, offering full support regarding product selection, regulatory compliance, and certification.
