Tungsten Alloy Container is a high-density shielding container designed for the safe transportation and storage of radioactive drugs (such as PET/CT imaging agents, therapeutic isotopes). Tungsten alloy has become an important protective material in the fields of medicine, nuclear industry, and scientific research due to its excellent radiation shielding performance.
The container's main body is made out of tungsten alloy to safely protect the transport environment against ionizing radiation such as gamma and X-rays, as well as the environment within the container itself-using high-density features which absorb and attenuate these types of radiation-ensuring safety of the transport environment; on top of the container are locked and fixed joints which, in combination with the O-ring seal, create a double protective barrier against leaking radiations due to vibrations and external forces; the built in handle allows for single handed operation which balances protection efficiency with portability, as it can be short or long distance transported to and from labs, hospitals, and industrial settings.
1. Efficient and high-density shielding:
A tungsten alloy is approximately 60% denser than lead and provides more efficient radiation shielding. Advanced tungsten alloys possess better gamma and X-ray radiation shielding efficiency compared to conventional materials, all within a compact size.
2. Environmental Safety:
Tungsten alloy does not emit toxic substances and is environmentally safe, and poses no danger to human health. Unlike lead, no harmful emissions are associated with the use of tungsten alloy shielding.
3. Long lifespan:
Tungsten alloy exhibits significant protective strength and rigidity, maintains good ductility, and has high tensile strength, enabling it to bear considerable mechanical impacts. Prolonged service life with strong corrosion resistance.
4. Ease in redesign and operation:
Magnetic locks or fixed joint sealing devices effectively guarantee hermetic container closure. The top of the container can be fitted with conical holes or observation windows, enabling effortless internal inspection and operational condition monitoring.
5. Adaptable Designs:
According to customer specifications, the shielding thickness can be varied, with standard values of 4, 6, and 20 millimeters. Containers of different sizes and shapes can be designed and tailored for particular specified purposes.
Nuclear medicine: transporting PET imaging agents such as ¹⁸F-FDG and ⁶⁸Ga.
Radiotherapy: carrying therapeutic isotopes such as ⁹⁰Y microspheres and ¹³¹I.
Laboratory research: safe storage of high-activity radioactive samples.
